First of all,  I want to say Merry Christmas to most of you.  I also want to acknowledge Happy Holidays to everybody else.  So with that said,  I wanted to give the update for this one reason,  I wanted to be the one to give the message of the importance of the holiday and the importance of enjoying this time of year especially with your family because at anytime you will never know when that could change in a given notice.   It’s the time of year where some people have the hardest time because they lost a love one at this time and it reminds people of that.   It’s the time of year that we remember the little things, mom’s or grandma’s cookies that we leave for St. Nick,  the year that we got that familar gift, or even the year where you may have struggled to get through the holiday season to allow everybody to get a gift.   Whatever reason that you have, just make sure that you don’t allow yourself to today of ALL days to allow yourself to forget about the people in the last 365 days that have meant something to you in some way because that’s really all some people need for a christmas gift is to let that friend or family member know how much you mean to them and why.  Don’t be afraid of the reaction that you could get because this is the holiday as the Al Green song goes to “Put a little love in your heart.

So with that said,  I wanted to share with you some Christmas poems and lyrics from Al Green’s song featuring Annie Lennox “Put a little love in your heart.”  It’s the song that really makes the Bill Murray movie “Scrooged” my favorite movie of the holiday season because it’s the old message that it’s never too late for regret.  If you have been that person that has always been more concerned about how much money you have and been so self obsessed about your life, or if you know somebody like this remind them the importance their actions have had on people that have tried to show that they care about them in some way and that it’s never too late for regret and to get that relationship back with that person that maybe they had but had broken up because that person was being too self absorbed in themselves.  Just remind them to put a little love in your heart and just maybe we can have a little bit more love in the world.  Maybe just a little bit more love in the world than we had on Dec. 25th 2010.

Put a Little Love in Your Heart
Lyrics by Al Green and Annie Lennox

Think of your fellow man
Lend him a helping hand
Put a little love in your heart
You see it's getting late
Oh please don't hesitate
Put a little love in your heart

And the world will be a better place
And the world will be a better place
For you and me

You just wait and see

Another day goes by
And still the children cry
Put a little love in you heart
If you want the world to know
We won't let hatred grow
Put a little love in your heart

And the world will be a better place
And the world will be a better place
For you and me
You just wait and see
Wait and see

Take a good look around
And if you're lookin' down
Put a little love in your heart
I hope when you decide
Kindness will be your guide
Put a little love in your heart

And the world will be a better place
And the world will be a better place
For you and me
You just wait and see

Put a little love in your heart
Put a little love in your
Love in your heart

Ella Wheeler Wilcox
When Christmas bells are swinging above the fields of snow,
We hear sweet voices ringing from lands of long ago,
And etched on vacant places
Are half-forgotten faces
Of friends we used to cherish,
And loves we used to know.

Christina Rossetti
Love came down at Christmas;
Love all lovely, love divine;
Love was born at Christmas,
Stars and angels gave the sign.

Emily Matthews
From home to home, and heart to heart, from one place to another
The warmth and joy of Christmas, brings us closer to each other.

Have a Merry Christmas!!!

Jeff
